He went on an expedition with Alvar Nuñez Cabeza De Vaca.He was sent to conquer the area between Florida and Mexico.They were the first Europeans to enter the land of Texas.He later found the Karankawas(indian tribe).Many of their people died from the disease of the tribe.He didn't stay that long,but then he left.He found out what they did in Texas.And the Spanish were astonished of their arrival in Mexico City!
