The French and American forces led by Comte Rochambeau and General George Washington marched hundreds of miles to get to Yorktown, Virginia which is right off of the York river. They had to set diversions to confuse the British forces led by General Cornwallis. After firing many shots, and getting trapped, Cornwallis surrendered on October 20th.
