Well, from the British eyes, he was a criminal. Which legally speaking, is true. We look at it that he did something good for our country(Boston tea party=vandalism, sons of liberty=terrorists, and basically everything else he did....including breathing. He would have been tried to treason on maybe 25 accounts. I hope this helped...
