Wit is called educated insolence because of cynical and sarcastic comments made by educated people. It also means that an educated person can put thoughts into words more easily.

Insolence actually is putting words in a way that might sound offensive and educated insolence is giving humor to words along with same old meaning (sarcasm in humor) to reduce offense and of course one who is wise can do it better so such quality of person represent one's wit.
