Abraham Lincoln was shot in the back of the head by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theatre in Washington DC. on April 14, 1865. After he was shot he was carried across the street to the Petersen House where he died the next morning. This event is now one of the most famous events in US history.

Ford's Theatre. Abraham Lincoln was shot, while watching a play at Ford's Theatre in Washington. He was taken to a Boarding House across the street from the Theatre, The Peterson House. He died the next morning.
