Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States was born on February 12, 1809, in a log cabin in Kentucky called the Sinking Springs Farm. When he was two, he moved ten miles away to another farm called Knob Creek. Here, he lived from 1811 to 1816. Then in 1816, Lincoln moved with his family across the Ohio River to Indiana and settled at the present site of the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. On April 15, 1865, Lincoln died of a gunshot made by John Wilkes Booth during a show at Ford's Theatre. Lincoln died in the Petersen's house a few hours after being shot.
