Oh, dude, that would be the British East India Company during the Boston Tea Party. Like, they tried to sneak in some tea without paying taxes, but those rebellious colonists were like, "No way, José!" and dumped it all into the harbor. So yeah, not the best business move for the East India Company.
They really didn’t have problems. The British passed trade laws but the colonies went around those and smuggled in things. One of the problems was when the British lowered the tea tax that made the smuggled Dutch tea higher in cost. The Boston Tea Party was the final result.
Comapny to sell tea below the price of the smuggled tea. Boston Tea Party - 1773, Samuel Adams led patriots ships disguised as Indians and raid of British ships dumped the loads of tea in to the Boston Harbor
Son's of Liberty. They were formed by Adams who was one of the biggest smugglers in the colonies. The British LOWERED the tea tax which made the smuggled Dutch tea higher in price than the English. The smugglers were protecting their business and income when they threw the tea in the harbor.
The sons of liberty were patriots who would revolt against British tax laws and they were the ones who were tar and feathering tax collectors and loyalists. Some of the sons of liberty were Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and others.
First and foremost Adams was a revolutionary. He organized the Sons of Liberty and was one of the biggest smugglers in the colonies and it was his idea to toss British tea into Boston Harbor because the tax on tea had been lowered. This made the Dutch tea he smuggled into the colonies higher in price and was costing him money. He was the cousin of John Adams who was very much involved with the Declaration of Independence and the war. Hamilton was the money man for the Sons of Liberty and Adams was the organizer.
who could not make a profit on there smuggled tea
Merchants
The quiet period in America followed the Boston Tea Party incident and the Stamp Tax. During this time Americans smuggled their tea in from Holland.
yup
holland
The Tea Act LOWERED the cost of the British tea tax and the British did it to make the tea more competitive against the tea that was being smuggled in from Holland by American smugglers. The smugglers were upset to see that they would loose business and it had nothing to do with taxes.

They smuggled anything, but one of the major products was tea. That is the reason the Boston Tea Party happened. The British lowered the tea tax and the smugglers were loosing money because that made their Dutch tea too high in price. Another product was sugar and molasses. Each were also taxed by the British.
the colonies would not be okay with the tea act in any case because they did not want taxation without representation

They were making money. Pure and simple and these guys really got upset when the Tea Act came along to LOWER taxes on British tea ( no they didn't make the tax higher). The smugglers saw that they would loose money to the British tea because it would be cheaper than the Dutch tea. Hamilton was involved in this as well.
