Obviously the Gallows or burning at the stake, because the sentence is death. There were some nastier death sentences like being hanged, drawn and quartered reserved for cases of Treason. Plus they could always just throw you in prison and torture you until you die.

I would vote for impalement.

In this form of punishment a sharpened stake, large and strong enough to support the victim is set in the ground point up. Enough of the stake was left above ground to penetrate the body in such a manner that the victim couldn't get off unassisted. The victim was lifted and then set down on the stake with their feet barely touching the ground. They were left to writhe and spin around the stake. As they gradually weakened they settled further down on the stake until the stake pierced something vital and they perished. Obviously, the stronger the individual, the longer it took to die.
