Was a lieutenant in the German Army during World War 1 and later became a business man in Germany and the Netherlands.
Otto Frank managed to survive the atrocities of the German concentration camps while his family all perished. He returned to The Netherlands to his business place and friends. Miep Gies rescued Anne Franks diary and gave it back to Otto when he returned to Amsterdam. He had it published and a movie was made (which he consulted on) depicting the Frank Family experience. Otto and his second wife basically spent the rest of their lives spreading the message of Anne's diary, and defending it against slanders that it was made-up, or written by Otto himself. Otto Frank died in 1980 at the age of 91 from cancer.
He lived in West Virginia, USA. He knew that one day, he would be found and that his life would twist and turn into a spiral of addictions. He later died from a heroin overdose.
