For the Axis Military, Italy lost about 4 percent, Japan 25 percent and Germany about 60 percent. As a percentage of the country's population including civilian deaths, the biggest loser was the USSR at 13 percent, Germany at 11 percent, China and Japan at about four percent, and France, the UK and the US at about one percent. The earth's population had decreased by more than 72 million persons.
