Pictures I have seen show them wearing a loose-fitting jungle green uniform similar to the Americans, but with jungle hats instead of steel helmets, and all equipment carried in back to facilitate a prone defensive position. Watch the movie "The Odd Angry Shot," and you will have an idea of Australia's experience in the Vietnam War, as well as their uniforms.
The Australian Soldiers wore uniforms similar to what the Royal Army wore from the UK and Canada. The pants were short and they wore leggings. But the Australian shirts were short sleeved because their country was mostly very hot. Some of the Brit shirts were short sleeved too. They could also wear shorts with knee length socks and possibly a tassel. The color was Khaki for the dress uniform and for the field uniforms.
Grants Militaria sells the uniforms. They have pictures on their web site if you are interested in seeing the nice looking hats, boots, uniform styles the Aussies used in that era. See link below to connect to it. You are not obligated to by anything by looking at the photos.
I have added a link to photos that show some of the Aussie Uniforms but the Grants site is better.

Australia traditionally has been equipped with British equipment, to include their helmets. During the Vietnam War, Australians began to use US equipment, to include our US M-1 steel helmet.
