Bush Senior flew US Navy torpedo bombers in WW2. Bush Junior flew F-102 Delta Dagger jet fighters with the Texas Air National Guard until about 1972. Approximately 14 F-102's were lost in the Vietnam War; one F-102 Delta Dagger was shot down by a North Vietnamese Air Force MIG-21 with an Air to Air missile, killing the pilot Lieutenant Wiggens.
