∙ 12y agoAuschwitz is a work camp established by the Austrian army which was later given to Poland during its establishment at the end of World War 1, seeing as it was abandoned the Nazis took control over it and used it as a work camp, Joseph Mengele also resided there and tested his abominable experiments in that camp.
Birkenau, also known as Auschwitz 2, is the death camp in which the most people were killed. If memory serves Birkenau had 5 crematoriums in which were also gas chambers. Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals and the other people that the Nazi party was persecuting were brought in on trains, right insideBirkenau, disembarked and were immediately taken to the gas chambers.
