It's totally up to you! You can't go asking people this, but personally I would say Abraham Lincoln, but it is your choice.but you should always try to think for yourself
Really it's just your opinion Washington had to face the power house known as Great Britain and Lincoln had to face his own nation's brothers I guess you can say. Washington had to go up against the strongest army of that time. Along with great generals and high tech weaponry at the time. Lincoln even though he had industry and resources on his side. He had to go against the greatest generals in America(which the greatest sided with the south) with some worst. Grant was called a butcher because of how he used his soldiers in combat causing large numbers of casulities not having a positive reputation and once the war was won he had to have the south join the union and recreate it without slavery. Their appearences signature wig and American commander war uniform and called the father of the U.S. Lincoln's black uniform top hat beard both symbolized their seperate time periods. It's definitely a close call
These are three of the better known US Presidents.
There is no hard evidence that Lincoln every uttered these words, but people do say that he said them. What is means is to try be good at whatever you do. It is like the boy scout motto, "Do your best". Do a good job at whatever you are doing.
For the most part, I think people respect him. The people that care about history do very much including me. So I'm shore there's people out there that don't like him for various reasons and that is there opinions and there's are different than mine.he's cool but he needs better fashion he really does but over all he's cool
Abraham Lincoln is important for two things. First, he established that the United States, the central government in Washington DC, has powers that are superior to the powers of the individual States whenever the United States chooses to exercise them. For better or for worse, that was the outcome of the U.S. Civil War. It got us a very powerful Federal goverment. Lincoln called himself a Republican but he was in fact one of the most committed Federalists every to hold the Presidency. Up until 1860 there was a sense, supported by the language of the Constitution, that State's Rights were more or less equal to the rights of the U.S. government. Lincoln's all-out pursuit of war to prevent the southern states from forming their own Confederacy led to the virtual disappearance of State's Rights from Constitutional interpretation. Second, in 1863 he wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, actually two proclamations, which served as a prelude to the actual outlawing of slavery 2 years later. Outlawing slavery was a controversial move, even in much of the north. There was a vocal and politically powerful Abolitionist movement pushing for an end to slavery, but the majority of citizens were not committed to the cause; nor were the majority of Union troops. Despite revisionist claims to the contrary, the Civil War was not a war about freeing the slaves; the vast majority of officers and troops were focused strictly upon the preservation of the Union. Lincoln's support of emancipation and his popularity following Robert E Lee's surrender hastened the ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1865 following his death.
Incumbent President Abraham Lincoln won reelection in the 1864 presidential election defeating George McClellan. In the 1864 presidential election Abraham Lincoln received 212 electoral votes and George McClellan received 21 electoral votes. The popular vote totals were Lincoln 2,218,388 and McClellan 1,812,807.

Abraham Lincoln
Well, Abraham Lincoln was a president while Robert E. Lee was the leader of the Confederate army. Now this is more of a matter of opinion, so I'll tell you mine...I personally think Abraham Lincoln was a way better leader than Robert E. Lee.First off, Abraham Lincoln was fighting for a better thing, uniting the country and ending slavery. But this does not really come into play about who was a better leader.Secondly, Abraham Lincoln's Union won the war! Although Robert E. Lee's Confederate Army was outnumbered, they had many more experienced soldiers, whilst the Union had very few trained soldiers and many young boys, so it's not like Lee was at a disadvantage...Thirdly, Abraham Lincoln went down as one of the most famous men in America. But if you asked Americans who Robert E. Lee was, 75% of them would probably say no... Thus showing that Abraham Lincoln was probably a better leader...So all-in-all, Abraham Lincoln was a tad bit better of a leader than Robert E. Lee....
panhandler. i guess he figured it would be better in jail than on the street.
Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln, himself, did not like slavery. He thought it to be immoral. However, Lincoln believed that if it would better the nation, it is the right thing to do.
On April 12, 1861, America was split up into two parts. The north & the south. The North was the United States of America. The South was the Confederate States of America. The president of the Confederate States of America was Jefferson Davis. The president of the United States of America was Abraham Lincoln. They were considered the Presidents of the Civil War.
