Before independence, English and French-speaking Canadians fought off American invasion forces meant to annex Canada in 1775, and again in 1812,

Canada fought alongside Britain in the Boer War, in World War One, and World War Two. It sent a sizable force to Korea, and to Afghanistan.

there were several wars back in the 17 and 1800s. None in the 20th century, however, Canadians have always fought on the side of right, in 1914 and 1939 these 2 world wars took many Canadian soldiers lives, they are presently in Afghanistan.

Technically, Canada hasn't fought in any wars. There were some battles when people were settling in the United States, but that was between Britain, Spain, and England mostly.

__

Technically, Canada has fought in many wars. Since Confederation:

Boer War

WW1

Intervention in Russian Civil War

WW2

Korean War

First Gulf War

Afghanistan

Libya

This doesn't count the many peace keeping missions in the middle of war zones.

Canadians also participated in Spanish Civil War, but not officially.

Canada has never had a civil war like the USA.

Canada has been involved in nearly all major international conflicts the USA has been, years before the USA in many cases.

Canada and the USA did go to war in 1812 with American frotier states attempting to invade parts of southern Ontario, amung other places, to use as a barganing chip... but the Americans ultimatly lost the war with a series of unsuccessfull attacks and raids and the Occupation of Detroit for nearly the entire war.

York (the capital of upper Canada, now Toronto) WAS attacked and occupied by the Americans for a large portion of the war and the entire city was badly burnt, looted and destroyed... But this was a pre-cursor to the eventual burning of Washington, the Capital Building and The White House.

If you take the time of the creation of Canada as 1867, Canada has been directly involved in two major wars: World War 1 and World War 2.

Canada was on the winning side in both, so it could be considered as having won at least two wars.

Well it depends on what you call a war there have been many skirmishes and flare ups dating back to the 1600's before either nations inceptions adding these up The U.S. holds an edge 23-5-3 these are such minors as the Arostook incident, Pig War, and Indian Stream. Canada was victorious in the Fenian Raids and on the winning side of the second Boer war (in which a large number of American Mercenaries fought on the losing side). However in terms of real actual wars there have been three majors and all of them before Canada's inception. The first The French and Indian War (a series of wars actually) won by the British and American colonists against the French and Canadian colonists and their Indian allies. The second the American Revolution also a clear American victory over England and Canada and all the associated allies on each side it should be noted however that although they won very clearly they did not manage to take the British colonies in modern Canada and abandoned their occupation of Quebec. The last the War of 1812 was one of the most convoluted and inconclusive wars ever fought actually having a time line from 1810-1818. Essentially a draw every principle player save the Creek has found something to indicate a victory for their side. The Canadians fought much harder and much much better then the Americans thought they would and defended their borders very well the Americans surprisingly dominated the naval battles and were towards the end beginning to win on the ground a treaty ended the war in 1815 and all the American-Canadian hostilities ceased there were fighting with British for a while longer on the ground and sea and with the allied Sauk (Sac and Fox) as late as 1818 so in the majors depending on who talk to the U.S. holds a 2-0-1 or 2-1 edge
