There has not been a king, or queen, of England since 1707.

England is a part of, but not the same as, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In 1884 the British monarch was Queen Victoria and at that date her title was "Queen of Great Britain and Ireland."

There was no King of England in 1840. Victoria was the Queen ruler. Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in 1840. His title was not â??King.â??
