yes, there was. Pieter vanHuys was a Flemish artist who lived 1519 to 1584 (16th Century). He did not paint " the Chess Players" as found in Perez-Revete's novel the Flanders Panel. Beatrice of Burgundy lived in the 13th Century and there was no Ferdinand nor Roger de Arras.
